Serena Dorsey
As a new author to the game, Serena N. Dorsey is very excited about the debut of her recent work with Poets Against Bullying and honored to be a part of such an awesome movement. Serena was born in Washington, DC and raised in the surrounding DMV area. Since the age of nine, Serena has been writing short stories and poems, and has always imagined her words could inspire and uplift; but allowed her passions to fizzle.
In 2013 Serena decided to take a leap of faith and leave her financial career of 8 years to begin putting more time and energy into her passions. Her passion was fueled in late 2013 after attending and participating in an online event that introduced her to some phenomenal women and gentlemen. It was then that she gained even more focus. Serena’s focus led her to attend a local Women’s Conference in early 2014. There she met an author which helped Serena target what she wanted to pursue and develop an understanding that her words were not her own yet, the words, poems, and stories she held within were God given and truly for all of those that need to gain confidence, motivation and peace.Serena wants to help provide words of encouragement for so many that feel a void and for those that feel alone and have stopped believing. Serena believes that individuality is simply that; every person is meant to be themselves and not unlike any other. Serena can relate first hand too many of these feelings. “My hope is that these words will encourage, uplift, and motivate persons to a higher mindset; for those acting as bullies and those being bullied, healing is absolutely needed on both sides.” ~Serena N. Dorsey
